Gilbert's ERA drops to 3.19 and a .95 WHIP...

What looked like a guy who the M's would trade now looks like an All Star with a couple more starts like this. Crazy turn around.
This is my opinion. about the front office. Dan is close to being considered for change..winning this series will save his job

Yes Gilbert raised his stock, joined three other potential all stars: Young, Miller, and Arozarena. Gilbert stays an M this entire season. Right now it is Castillo (70% chance) or a slim chance Hancock (20% chance) getting traded this season.

If Hancock wins against Yessavage tomorrow Castillo is going to be traded at deadline-100%. Changes are coming...most likely outcome, one reliever and one right hand bat (Spencer Steer or Seiya Suzuki will come.) for reliever? My guess was Anthony Bender of the Marlins but he just hit the injured list. So,I am betting or guessing Luke Weaver. Weaver pitched briefly for Seattle in 2023 and remade himself into a high-end reliever. Jerry Dipoto loves familiar faces and overlooked/repurposed arms. Contract: He's on a two-year deal (through 2027), which adds some cost but makes him a known commodity rather than a pure rental.

Just curious, can any of you think of a previous time when the American League was this weak?

Top to bottom.

Yeah, I'd say 1999 and 2003 are the closest historical parallels to this time. This imbalance stands out because inter league results with a pretty balanced schedule serves as one of the best real-time measures of relative league strength.

Terry, don't know if I have a say in it, but I vote that you run with the Game Thread. You earned it today.

Great Thread Steal!
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

I'd say it's up to MostonMike since he started the contest thread.

Thanks Rocky... I will do whatever, I don't care, I didn't want to steal a thread, I just didn;t see one, and I was hoping to be lucky, but I was far more lucky than I imagined possible. This game was a monster, so is tomorrow's game.

Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!

If Julio had been playing CF we would have had a no-hitter. Frankly, I think the Mariner organization should announce tomorrow that it's a no-hitter and enter it into their history books as such. What's MLB going to do about it? Seriously, DO IT.

You dont want a Brit telling you what to do, surely ?   Especially on such a historic day. ;)

But for what its worth - yeah it should be Terry's guest run and he should start as many threads until next loss.

Go for it...
